T

he 22nd Saint Petersburg International Conference on Integrated Navigation Systems took place at the Scientific Research
Center of Russia - Concern CSRI Elektropribor, JSC on 25-27
May 2015.

SPONSORSHIP AND SUPPORT
The Conference was held with the support of the Scientific Council
of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Motion Control and Navigation Problems, the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, the
International Public Association - the Academy of Navigation and
Motion Control, National Research University ITMO, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers - the Aerospace and Electronics
Systems Society (IEEE-AESS), L'Association Aéronautique et Astronautique de France, L'institut Français de Navigation, Deutsche
Gesellschaft fuer Ortung und Navigation (DGON) (German Institute of Navigation), and Journal Gyroscopy and Navigation.
The International Program Committee formed of leading scientists from France, Germany, Russia, and the USA, headed the
conference, under the direction of Committee Chairman, Vladimir
G. Peshekhonov, an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Figure 1).
The Conference languages were English and Russian. Provision
was made for simultaneous interpretation from Russian into English
and from English into Russian (Figure 2). There were 337 special-

represented 22 foreign companies and 78 organizations of Russia.
Five young scientists were delegated to the Conference without
payment of Conference fee by the Organizing Committee of the
17th Conference of Young Scientists Navigation and Motion Control (held mainly in Russian).

CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS
Conference presentations were distributed between 4 sessions: Integrated Systems, Gravimetric Systems, Inertial Systems and Sensor, and Satellite Systems.
The Conference format comprised invited, plenary and poster
papers. At the Conference sessions 99 papers were presented: 2
invited papers by famous scientists, 19 plenary (including 1 (Finland) in video conference format) and 78 poster papers. The papers
which evoked the greatest interest will be published in the journal
Giroskopiya i Navigatsiya («Гироскопия и навигация» (ISSN
0869-7035) published by the State Research Center of Russia Concern CSRI Elektropribor, JSC*) and in the English version of
this journal GYROSCOPY AND NAVIGATION (ISSN 2075-1087).
Invited papers from leading specialists were also presented.
Didier Faivre (Figure 3A) from the European Space Agency
(ESA), France, and with the European GNSS Programme EGNOS
and GALILEO presented an invited paper on Operational Results
and Programmatic Perspectives. V.V. Pasynkov (Figure 3B) (Research and Production Corporation "Precision Instrument Making
Systems", Russia) presented an invited paper on the Status and
Prospects of the Global Precision Navigation Systems (Differential
Subsystems with the Global Working Range). Both papers evoked
the great interest of the Conference attendees.
The authors of poster papers at the plenary session were given
3 minutes to present the main idea of their papers with 1-2 slides,
if any; further discussion of papers was continued at the posters.
Participants eagerly exchanged their opinions in informal discussions at the posters and on the sidelines of the Conference.
During the breaks, exhibition of books and journals and other publications by CSRI Elektropribor and other organizations
aroused great interest (Figure 4).
