N. Acito (M'02) received the
Laurea degree (cum laude) in
telecommunication engineering
and the Ph.D. degree in "methods and technologies for environmental monitoring" from
University of Pisa, Italy, in 2001
and in 2005, respectively. From
November 2004 to October 2008
he was a temporary researcher
with the Department of Information Engineering, University of
Pisa, Italy. He is currently Researcher/Lecturer at the Italian
Navy Academy. His interests include signal and image processing
in remote sensing applications. His current activity has been focusing on target detection and recognition in hyperspectral images. Dr.
Acito is a reviewer of the most important international journals,
i.e., the IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing,
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on
Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic
Systems.
M. Diani (M'93) received his
Laurea degree (cum laude) in
electronic engineering from University of Pisa, Italy, in 1988. He
is currently full Professor at the
Italian Naval Academy in Livorno, Italy, where he teaches "Signal Processing" and "Telecommunications Theory". He also
teaches "Remote Sensing" at the
University of Pisa. His main research fields are image and signal processing with application
to remote sensing. In this framework, his works have covered different topics such as data fusion,
signal processing in imaging radars, image classification and segmentation and object detection. His recent activities have focused
on the development of new algorithms for object detection and
tracking in infrared image sequences and on target detection and
recognition in multi/hyperspectral images. Prof. Diani is Associate
JULY 2017, Part II of II

Editor for the Journal of Applied Remote Sensing (JARS) and for
the Journal of Real Time Image Processing (JRTIP). He has served
as a reviewer for many journals in the fields of remote sensing and
image/signal processing such as IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, Applied Optics. He is
member of SPIE and IEEE.
G. Corsini (M'89) received the
Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering from University of
Pisa, Italy, in 1979.
He is currently a Full Professor at the Department of Information Engineering, University
of Pisa, where he teaches "Image
Processing". His main research
fields include signal detection
and processing with emphasis
on image and multidimensional
signal analysis in remote sensing applications. His current research interests include object detection and parameter estimation
from remotely sensed data with particular emphasis on hyperspectral and multispectral images. Prof. Corsini has been a member of
technical committees at international conferences. He is a reviewer
of the most important international journals in this field, i.e., the
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, IEEE
Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Signal
Processing, IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and electronic Systems, and the International Journal on Remote Sensing.
S. Resta was admitted to the 1st
Class of the Naval Academy in
October2001. In April 2005, as
Ensign, he received the Bachelor
Degree cum laude in telecommunication engineering. In April
2008, as Lieutenant, he received
the Master Degree in telecommunication engineering cum
laude, defending a thesis entitled
"Study and Development of Dimensionality Reduction Methods for Hyperspectral Data
Analysis in Detection Applications". During the period April 2008 - December 2009 he has
served has Technical Operation Component Chief onboard of ITS
Cavour. In 2013, he received the PhD degree in "remote sensing"
- Ph.D. School, at University of Pisa.
His actual research activity involves Multisensor Fusion with
Hyperspectral Imaging Data for Target Detection Applications.
