their performance in dual-device (vertical) positioning systems.
Evaluation relied on a prototype testbed for low-cost experimental
observations of the sensor's behavior at different P/T values. The
proposed testbed is addressed over the exceptionally expensive
apparatus required for conducting accurate experiments. STMicroelectronics sensor (i.e., lps25hb) yielded better accuracy for
different temperatures, but also significant displacement of the
population mean value. On the other hand, Bosch Sensortec device (i.e., bme280) produced measurements of less accuracy for
different temperatures. However, a negligible displacement of the
population mean at different temperature values was identified.
Consequently, the utilization of the lps25hb sensor is recommended for dual-device systems that support recalibration processes
during their operation, while utilization of the bme280 sensor is
preferable for systems configured by one-time calibration. In addition, the measurement analysis that has been carried out in this
communication aims to illustrate that sensors of comparatively
equal accuracy may produce significant disagreements in the system performance.
