This little stocking was designed for the White House Blue
Room Christmas for the Clintons in 1995. Never taught
or shared design-wise, it represents Santa stopping off
to deliver gifts to someone who worked hard to bring our
country back together. It now lives in the Clinton Library.
Stitched on Congress cloth in floss, overdyed floss, silk and
gold braid, the stocking kit contains a line-drawn canvas, all
needed threads, needles and directions. It's a two-day class
with no prework.

The easy-to-learn formula will be taught
using a canvas of the student's choice. Once
applied, the formula will simplify the choice of
threads and stitches, create perspective and
depth through the use of threads and families
of stitches, unite design elements, establish
primary and secondary focal points, which will
work together to enrich your design. Step into
Jo Ippolito Christensen's studio for a fruitful
class that will give you new tools to apply to
your future projects. Students might want to
buy threads at the Seminar shop.
Kit Costs/Contents: $30; the kit will consist of a
color stitch plan for each student's design that
was made by applying The Coveted Formula for
Selecting Stiches and Threads. The students
will receive a black-and-white copy of all of the
other stitch plans.
