It addresses the various regulatory requirements for European avionics equipment. EUROPE News & Regulatory Updates Australia Recently, the Australian government’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority published the following documents for review on its website: • AAC 9-5 - Type Training Courses and Examinations Conducted by Maintenance Training Organizations Approved under CAR 30. • Advisory Circular – AC 66-2(7): List of Aircraft Type Ratings for CASR Part 66 Licenses, which includes change bars where updates have been made. • Civil Aviation Advisory Publication – CAAP 181A-1(2) – Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum Approvals has been published. SOUTH PACIFIC European Aviation Safety Agency EASA has released a consolidated version of Part 66 – Certifying Staff Handbook. This is the third of a kind together with Part 145 and Part M. The electronic version is available from the EASA website free of charge. Printed versions or versions on a CD ROM must be purchased. At the same time, a long-awaited update of Part M and the Part 145 Handbook will be issued soon. Of importance to AEA members is a new notice of proposed amendment on maintenance check flights issued in July and open for consultation until October.
