These portions of the AEA’s program clearly were designed with change in mind. But, no emphasis on training and continued education would be complete without recognizing and rewarding companies who have forcefully embraced the need for their employees to stay up to date on the latest and greatest technologies, methods and information. their employee’s continued education – as evidenced by participation in AEA-approved training – several member companies received the 2011 AEA Avionics Training Excellence Award. In commenting on the training awards made during the show, Mike Adamson, vice president of member programs and education for the AEA, said the association’s certified repair station members are trained far beyond the federal requirements, demonstrating a commitment few other industries can match. “Members rely on the Association as the foundation of their approved training programs,” he said. “The AEA develops high-quality, cost-effective regulatory and technical training for the general aviation aircraft electronics community to meet and exceed the federal requirements.” But, no meaningful effort to take responsibility for and improve one’s industry can succeed without fostering and promoting new talent.
