If a customer wants to upgrade only a portion of an installation, it is likely that additional capabilities are easy to add thanks to the networked architecture employed. And, when it comes time to perform even a minor cabin refurbishment, it’s also likely new products and standards mean greater installation and operational flexibility. The new products introduced at the AEA International Convention & Trade Show were all that and more. Not convinced? Here are the details. ACCORD TECHNOLOGY Accord Technology LLC announced its latest GPS receiver/sensor, the NexNav MAX GPS WAAS, recently received Federal Aviation Administration authorization under TSO-C145c. The product X is the latest entry MA av xN in Accord’s NexNav e sN gy’ family of civil aviaolo n ech tion GPS receivers and dT cor Ac sensors, which the company said is a key solution in its offerings of affordable civil aviation GPS products. The NexNav MAX is the same sensor used in the Esterline CMC SmartDeck avionics suite, and provides position sensing for the Eclipse Aerospace Avio integrated flight management system, according to the company. Available as a circuit card receiver for avionics OEM hosting or as a line-replaceable sensor for aircraft installations, the NexNav MAX supports ADS-B and all normal GPS-based flight operations, plus advanced area navigation and terminal procedures like LPV (localizer performance with vertical guidance) and RNP AR (required navigation performance with authorization required).

Daylight readability has long been a critical safety consideration in the cockpit, according to the company, and the VIVISUN products are designed for excellent contrast and color distinction in direct sunlight. When not illuminated, VIVISUN switches maintain a flat, non-reflective face with the legend completely hidden.
