The new ICDS, for example, offers fully configurable software, resulting in tailored replacement options and lower fleet-wide costs. The displays come in three basic sizes – 6, 8 and 10 inches – with composite or full-screen modes and feature internal symbol generators to help minimize space and weight requirements. The ICDS PFD includes customizable engine data displays with what the company called intuitive LCD interfaces designed to reduce pilot fatigue, improve situational awareness and enhance safety. It can display primary flight and navigation data along with engine management and other functions, and easily can be integrated with solid-state digital attitude and heading reference systems. Meanwhile, the accompanying MFD features a moving map display, with custom databases, terrain/obstruction proximity alerting, plus radar, TAWS, traffic, lightning, XM Wx and other inputs. According to the company, Access/D requires no remote “analog/digital interface unit” and simply consists of user stations, unlike other products on the market.
