GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE CORP. named WILLIAM (BILL) CLAREY sales director in the company’s North American sales, east division, Mid-Atlantic region. His territory is Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia. Clarey, who is based in Northern Virginia, reports to JIM William (Bill) Clarey DOBBINS, vice president, North American sales, east division. Most recently, Clarey was based in Seattle as the Pacific Northwest sales director for Hawker Beechcraft business jets. From 2007 to 2009, he was responsible for Hawker Beechcraft light jet and turboprop sales in the Pacific Northwest. From 2001 to 2007, Clarey served in increasingly responsible sales positions for Phoenix-based Cutter Aviation and Boise, Idahobased Western Aircraft. launched a powerful, second-generation processor for all its certified Class 2 PilotView electronic flight bag products. According to the company, the new Intel Dual Core i7 processor seamlessly enables a wide range of advanced software applications and delivers highend graphics capabilities for all of CMC’s EFB products – for new products, as well as for the retrofit of fielded units with full form and fit interchangeability. CMC also is offering LED integrated backlighting improvements for its 8.4-inch PilotView EFB. Other improved features

include enhanced sunlight readability, lower power consumption and enhanced battery life. • In other news... Esterline CMC Electronics has achieved a production milestone with the recent delivery of its 500th SureSight second generation enhanced vision system sensor, the CMA-2600. The EVS unit was delivered to Rockwell Collins head-up guidance systems for installation on the Dassault Falcon 7X aircraft. Field Aviation
FIELD AVIATION of Toronto received an STC from the European Aviation Safety Agency for installation of the Universal Avionics EFI-890R display system in the full line of classic DASH 8 aircraft, including the 100-, 200- and 300-series models. The EASA STC follows an earlier STC granted by Transport Canada covering the same installation. FAA certification is pending. The upgrade features five identical Universal Avionics EFI-890R, high definition LCD flat panel displays, of which four primarily present the pilots with navigation and flight information, and the fifth (center display) presents engine information. The system provides full redundancy by allowing information to be switched between

the five displays. Field Aviation has completed flight deck upgrades on a DASH 8 Q300 for the Icelandic Coast Guard and a Q200 for Air Iceland, with a second Air Iceland Q200 aircraft to be delivered with the upgrade next month. The first DASH 8 Q100 to receive the flight deck upgrade is Bluebird Aviation Limited of Nairobi, Kenya, with an aircraft in production now and a second scheduled for later this year. When Field Aviation delivers the Bluebird Aviation Q100, it will be significant in that all three series of classic DASH 8s will then be operating with Field Aviation’s EFI-890R-based flight deck modernization upgrade.
