AEA Educational Foundation Scholarship List for the 2013-14 Academic Year
The Aircraft Electronics Association Educational Foundation will award more than 20 scholarships totaling more than $125,000 for the 2013-14 school year to students pursuing a career in avionics or aircraft maintenance, as well as students from AEA member companies. The following is a list of available scholarships and their criteria. The deadline for application submissions is Feb. 15, 2013.
Aircell Scholarship – $2,500
Established in April 2012, the Aircell scholarship was created through a donation valued at more than $50,000 to the AEA Educational Foundation, providing a $2,500 annual scholarship for a 20-year period to an aspiring avionics or aircraft maintenance technician. Aircell is a provider of in-flight connectivity for business aviation. The Aircell scholarship is presented each year to a high school senior and/or college student who plans to attend, or is already attending, an accredited school in an avionics or aircraft repair program.

David Arver Memorial Scholarship – $1,000
Given by Dutch and Ginger Arver in memory of their son, David. Dutch Arver was a supporter of the AEA for years and served on the board of directors until his retirement. The recipient of this scholarship shall be a high school senior or college student who plans to attend or is attending an accredited avionics or aircraft maintenance program.

Duncan Aviation Scholarship – $1,000
Given by Duncan Aviation. This scholarship is available to a high school senior or college student who plans to attend or is attending an accredited school in an avionics or aircraft repair program.

Bud Glover Memorial Scholarship – $1,000
Named in memory of Bud Glover, former vice president of general aviation sales for Bendix/King Radio. Glover was a 25-year contributor to the avionics industry. This scholarship is available to a high school senior or college student who plans to attend or is attending an accredited school in an avionics or aircraft maintenance program.

Dutch and Ginger Arver Scholarship – $1,000
Available to a high school senior or college student who plans to attend or is attending an accredited school in an avionics program.

Field Aviation Co. Inc. Scholarship – $1,000
Available to a high school senior or college student who plans to attend or is attending an accredited college or university in an avionics or aircraft maintenance program. The educational institution where the student attends must be located in Canada.

Chuck Peacock Memorial Scholarship – $1,500
Given by Wanda Peacock in memory of her late husband, Chuck Peacock. As the founder of the Aircraft Electronics Association, Peacock credited his aviation and business management skills as the cornerstones for his success in the industry. This scholarship is offered to recognize the importance of management skills and is available to a high school senior or college student who plans to attend or is attending an accredited school in an aviation management program.

Garmin Scholarship – $2,000
Available to a high school senior or college student who plans to attend or is attending an accredited school in an avionics or aircraft maintenance program.

Garmin–Jerry Smith Memorial Scholarship – $1,000
Available to a high school, college or vocational/technical school student who plans to attend or is attending an accredited vocational/technical school in an avionics or aircraft maintenance program.
