on-aircraft installation services. In 2012, a group of investors from the Commonwealth of Independent States (an alliance comprised of republics of the former Soviet Union) purchased the company. After three decades in business, the original owners, Rene Gil and Jay Salazar, are still part of the management team. “We have grown since those early days,” Salazar said. “Presently, we have 22 employees and more than 24,000 square feet of office and warehouse space.” Last March, the company expanded, almost tripling its space in the building it currently occupies across the street from Miami International Airport. Currently, ARC Avionics is expanding its workbenches with new tooling and test equipment to troubleshoot and repair new generation avionics and instruments. “Our current challenge is implementing the test benches that will allow us to handle all types of avionics and communications systems, next-generation and legacy,” Salazar said. “We continuously seek ways to expand our business; we realize that our place in the market is dependent upon our capabilities.” The expanded workbenches are expected to be complete by the second quarter of 2013. In addition to adding new capabilities, ARC Avionics has focused on expanding its customer base, reaching out to new markets around the world. “We have grown significantly throughout the years,” Salazar said. “Recently, we have
expanded into the European markets with the objective of serving the emerging markets of Russia and CIS. We have served the aviation industry for more than 30 years and
have earned a reputation throughout the industry as an impeccable repair shop. We want to bring that dedication and expertise to more customers in more places.” q
