Today, Archer also is learning business intelligence, targetmarketing strategies, and customer service and retention.
Despite sometimes struggling in a very tough market, this
Aviation Ace continues to plan for his company's future. His
ambitions include expanding to the Far East - to Singapore
or Thailand.
"On my recent trip to Asia, I did some market research and
saw a lot of opportunities," he said. He knows how far he's
come already in the U.S. and remains optimistic as his company seeks partners for his worldwide vision.
Archer also sees some avionics opportunities in unmanned
aerial vehicle systems. Apart from size and sophistication,
UAVs and drones share many similarities with RC planes.
Since he is obsessed with RC planes, which he's been flying
since high school, he has closely followed how UAVs and
drones have evolved during the years. "I see a good future for

the UAV industry, and our company definitely will seek to tap
into this growing market," he said.
In his off-work hours, Archer enjoys traveling, snowboarding, flying RC airplanes, attending sporting events, playing
computer games and volunteering at various local charities.
As for the U.S., he said, "American people are very hard
working. They landed on the moon and invented airplanes and
the Internet. Moving here was the right decision, and I never
looked back."
He was naturalized and became "a proud U.S. citizen" in
2004. He recalled, "I passed the test and was sworn in with a
big group of people in an auditorium. I looked around, and I
was the only Burmese person that day."
He sums up his business philosophy this way: "Like
Thomas Edison once said, in order to succeed it takes 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration. You have to work
hard and smart to survive or it's game over." q
