UAG knows aviation. During the last 15 years,
the Switzerland-based company has acquired numerous well-respected and experienced aviation
organizations, deepening its expertise and broadening its
capabilities along the way.
In December 2012, RUAG
acquired Rosebank Engineering,
which specializes in maintenance, repair and overhaul
services for the Royal Australian Air Force. The move gives RUAG the ability to
offer comprehensive support out of Australia. Until now,
RUAG supported its customer base in the Asia-Pacific
region at its Malaysian and European facilities.
The acquisition of Geneva, Switzerland-based Transairco from Pilatus in late 2007 made RUAG an authorized
service center for Dassault Falcon aircraft, bringing in 25
years of experience with the popular French jet.
Back in 2003, RUAG purchased parts of Dornier and
began manufacturing the Dornier 228 New Generation 19-seat, twin-turboprop multirole aircraft, adding

aircraft OEM to its roster. RUAG’s maintenance facility
in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, near Munich, handles
the aircraft’s final assembly, custom equipment installations, inspections and aircraft delivery.
In February, GE Aviation named
RUAG Aviation an authorized
service center for GE’s CF34-3
engines that power the Bombardier
Challenger series. The Bombardier
authorized service facility in Oberpfaffenhofen has more than 30 years experience, and it
is the oldest Cessna authorized service center outside of
the U.S. with nearly 40 years of experience.
Casting A Wide Network
With more than 7,700 employees, the company’s
reach is far and wide. Dozens of business units in aviation, aerospace and defense technology fall under the
RUAG Group name. They are located all over the world,
from Austria and Australia to Belgium and Brazil, Germany and France to Sweden and Malaysia.
