t the Heli-Expo in March, Malachi Nordine,
SkyTrac Systems’ new president and CEO,
showed off the Canadian company’s latest product
– the ISAT-200A. For several days, Nordine worked the
convention hall, shaking hands and introducing himself
to potential
customers
and partners,
eagerly talking
about the
transceiver’s new
voice messaging and
real-time exceedance
reporting features demonstrated at the show.
Nordine, formerly SkyTrac’s director of product
development, joined the Kelowna, British Columbia-based
company six years ago. Having managed the development
of the ISAT-200A as well as other solutions for satellitebased flight following and communications systems, he
knows the features and functions as well as any of SkyTrac’s

experienced engineers. In late November, a group that
included Nordine, Stephen Sorocky and Roynat Equity
Partners purchased the business, putting Nordine at the helm.
Today, the new CEO’s vision for the company focuses
on continuing to offer products and technologies that
increase safety, improve operational efficiency and ease
regulatory compliance.
Finding a Better Way
Since opening in 1986,
SkyTrac has acquired a long list
of supplemental type certificates.
The systems are utilized in
virtually every aviation market, and are installed
on a variety of rotary and fixed-wing aircraft, including
AgustaWestland, Eurocopter, Cessna, Bell, Sikorsky, MBB,
Beechcraft, de Havilland, LearJet and Raytheon.
