AEA Hosts Three
Training Courses in May
The AEA’s commitment to training
continues, and the Dan Derby Center
for Professional Development at the
association’s international headquarters
will be extremely busy during the month
of May, as no less than three professional
development training courses are available.

Certified Repair Station Training Course
......................................................... May 13-17
This week-long course is divided into training
modules designed for the start-up repair station as
well as mature operators looking to improve their
understanding of the regulations, performing internal audits and writing repair station manuals.
Presented by Ric Peri, AEA vice president of
government and industry affairs, this course is
appropriate for quality managers, technicians,
mechanics and repairmen who are involved in the
management of a repair station, as well as individuals looking to establish a Part 145 repair station.

Basic Wiring and Avionics Installation
......................................................... May 20-22
A three-day course, it is designed for currently
employed repair station personnel, airframe and powerplant mechanics, and others interested in improving or
acquiring the skills necessary to perform avionics installations in general aviation aircraft. The course employs
in-depth theory and hands-on lab exercises to immerse
the attendee in the best practices used to plan, manage
and install a general aviation avionics panel. It is FAAaccepted for 26 hours toward IA renewal training.
Navigation Systems Line Maintenance & Testing
......................................................... May 23-24
Immediately following the Basic Wiring and Avionics
Installation course, this class covers the theory, operation, testing and troubleshooting of common aircraft
navigation systems, including VOR navigation systems,
instrument landing systems and global positioning systems. Students will receive training on the setup and use
of the Aeroflex IFR 4000 associated with the testing of
aircraft navigation systems. It is ideally suited for individuals who have completed the AEA’s Basic Wiring
and Avionics Installation Course or for those who want
to enhance their line maintenance knowledge and understanding of navigation systems testing. q
