News contributor, spoke with Brad
Vieux to learn more about his work at
GlobalParts.aero.

With...

I do research on customers,
vendors, products and various territories worldwide. I do this not
only for our distribution site, but
for our new manufacturing facility,
Global Parts Aero Manufacturing
Inc., and our repair station, Global
Parts Aero Services Inc. I’ll go into
a company or a specific territory
to get a feel for what is going on.
Once I can determine if the needs
fit our business type, then it’s
moving on to introductions and
turning leads over to our sales
department.

What’s your background?

I joined the company to help
increase sales and help get our
processes in place. Before joining GlobalParts.aero, I was with
Avgroup for nearly three years and
Matrix for seven years.

How did you get involved
in the aviation industry?

I was going to Southern Technical
College, and its placement service
got me into RSC Electronics; I was
there for a few years. From there,
I went to Airtechnics and was selling OEM components. Then it was
on to Matrix where I got involved
in the aftermarket.

What do you like best
about your job?

It constantly changes. No two

customers are the same; no two
markets are the same. This job
allowed me to get back with old customers where we can start to diversify our product offerings. There is a
continual development phase that’s
always evolving. For example, we’re
also now working with motorcycles
and boats, in addition to aerospace.
Having the manufacturing facility
and the repair station is an ongoing learning experience, as well.
Keeping up with what’s going on in
the industry as a whole takes a lot
of time, research and networking.
There is never a dull moment.

What’s the corporate
culture like at
GlobalParts.aero?
We’re very team oriented
and work toward improving
on a daily basis. We want all
of our employees to understand what each department
does and have a basic understanding of the processes. We
try to keep a relaxed environment while maintaining
a professional atmosphere.
There is an open door policy
that helps to improve communication for everyone.

What’s a typical day?

I don’t think there is one. I divide
my time among the three companies. We’re still in an aggressive
