of this project?
To do a show-quality installation
using the latest technology.

What makes this project unique?
While we are no strangers to cutting
new instrument panels, this project
was unique because it was a full
restoration. It included cutting all new
instrument panels and powder coating all panels, including the throttle
levers and center console panels,
and then engraving placards and
markings. Any existing instruments
or gauges to remain in the aircraft
were sent out to be refurbished.
Did you encounter any problems?
This project sat in a corner of the
hanger and was only worked on
when there were no other installations taking place. During this time,
Garmin produced numerous software
changes and even a new GAD-43e

adapter, which allowed us to remove
the autopilot preselector.
How did you resolve
these problems?
Changes had to be made along
the way with some rewiring due to
box changes and, in some cases,
new panel pieces to match the
installation.
Did you learn anything
from this project?
We learned that incorporating
changes as a project proceeds is
necessary with an installation of
this size.
What was the
customer’s response?
The customer was very pleased
that his vision of the installation
became reality.
Additional Comments:
This project would not have turned
out as well as it did without the
expert panel work, powder coating
and engraving performed by Mike
Bice at M-B Company in Humble,
Texas. Additionally, the effort of
our own installer, Ben Carnes, and
his attention to detail is what made
this project work. q

The installation includes a G600, dual GTN750s, GMA35, GTX33ES, GTS820,
GDL69A, GAD43e and EDM960.
