Weighted at the business aircraft end, general aviation accounts for 20 to 25 percent of the business. The
20-person repair station in Manila supports airline, corporate and government customers throughout Asia.
AEA membership has been an important part of the
business since 1984, because it denotes a level of professionalism that is understood and appreciated worldwide.
TGH Aviation – Auburn, Calif.
A family-run business employing its second and third
generations, TGH Aviation was known as The Gyro
House for a half century, according to
Allyson Finn, director of marketing
and GSA contracts. Since Emery Oxley
Sr. founded the company in 1957, with
a small shop at Flabob Airport, it has
added avionics and component repair to
its business, and the change better represented the company’s capabilities.
Those capabilities started growing into
avionics when Emery Oxley Jr. joined
the company in 1963, after a hitch in
the U.S. Marine Corps. He learned the
business from the bench up and is now
the CEO. In 1972, the company moved to
Auburn, where it was a founding member
of the Auburn Airport Business Park Association.
The next expansion came in the late
1980s, when the Anderson family bought

into the company, said Finn, and Rick Anderson is now
the president. Drawing on his background with several
OEMs and with contacts in military and commercial
aviation, he started diversifying the company’s capabilities by the first of four fuel flow test stands. Developing
a respected reputation for problem solving, military work
accounts for 70 percent of business, followed in almost
equal parts commercial and general aviation.
Itemizing the reasons why TGH has been an AEA
member since 1984, Finn expounded on the organization’s tireless research of legislation and proposed
regulations and the timely translation of how it will affect
members and the industry as a whole. q
