AVIONIC INSTRUMENTS announced the launch of its new website:

was created to offer a user-friendly experience, including improved
navigation, easy access to updated product information and a simple
quote request form.
The new website allows customers to search and easily access detailed
product information. The “request a quote” function offers users a simple,
comprehensive online tool to streamline the quotation process. Other
updated features include an upgraded “products” section, easy access
to all customer notifications, links to a customer satisfaction survey and
return authorization form and other important customer resources.
The new website is aimed at creating a more engaging and streamlined

Avidyne Corp.
AVIDYNE CORP. announced it has received an STC from the Federal
Aviation Administration for the installation of its DFC90 Digital Autopilot
in Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft when interfaced with the Evolution Pro
Primary Flight Display from ASPEN AVIONICS.
Avidyne initially certified the DFC90 with its Entegra PFD in the Cirrus
SR20 and SR22, and have now certified it with the Aspen EFD1000 Pro
for installation in early-model aircraft that were originally delivered with
electromechanical instruments from 1999 through early 2003.
According to the company, this STC adds the Aspen EFD1000 Pro as
an approved attitude source and mode display for the DFC90 in Cirrus
aircraft. The DFC90 is a plug-and-play retrofit of existing systems in the
Cirrus SR20 and SR22. Aspen holds an AML-STC for its Evolution Pro
PFD on a wide range of aircraft, including these Cirrus models.
The DFC90 was previously certified with the Aspen PFD in the Cessna
182 Skylane series of aircraft, and most recently in the Beech Bonanza
series. The DFC90 also is certified in the Entegra-equipped Piper PA-46
Matrix and Mirage. Avidyne also has plans to certify the DFC90 in the
Beechcraft Baron series, among others.

recently completed an extensive review
of the different upgrade paths and
favorable discounts being offered by
some of the leading vendors in the
aviation industry. With more than 1,100
aircraft operating with the Magnastar
system and a discontinuation of service
expiring in December 2013, operators
need to plan their upgrades sooner
than later as the number of shops and
available equipment will saturate come
the fourth quarter of this year and crews
will have to explain why the phone is “out
of service.”
“The Banyan team understands no
one likes to down their aircraft to perform
an installation, and we took the time to
study how we can reduce the downtime
to a minimum and make sure customers
receive the best deal and largest savings
offered by the vendors,” said BRIAN
WILSON, Banyan’s director of avionics.
To help stimulate operators to not wait
to the last second and jeopardize their
chance of not getting an installation slot,
Banyan is offering aggressive pricing
for those operators that will input their
aircraft during the third quarter of 2013.
“The Magnastar phone has been a
stable system onboard these aircraft
for more than 25 years, but like any
technology, the time has come to remove
this voice-only system and upgrade to
one that allows Internet, email and voice
communication,” Wilson said.
