FreeFlight Systems

FREEFLIGHT SYSTEMS announced the RANGR FDL-978-XVR ADS-B 978MHz

transceiver family with optional internal WAAS/GPS has received TSO authorization
from the FAA.
According to the company, FreeFlight’s RANGR FDL-978-XVR transceiver provides full
ADS-B In and ADS-B Out capability, with a high integrity WAAS/GPS in a single box that
meets pilots’ needs today. The addition of the RANGR product line
provides full ADS-B rule compliance while interfacing to the
existing Mode A/C or Mode S transponders. Using the
RANGR FDL-978-XVR, pilots can receive TIS-B
and FIS-B uplinks, giving them access to traffic,
graphical weather and other data displayed on a
compatible MFD or iPad via Free-Flight’s Wi-Fi
module, as well as being fully compliant with the
upcoming ADS-B equipage mandate.
The RANGR FDL-978-XVR also meets all DO-160
(environmental) requirements for helicopter applications and is
certified to DO-282B/TSO C154c, TSO-C157a, TSO-C195a, and TSO145c. In addition to these certifications, the FreeFlight UAT Radio technology has
been proven in multiple rule compliant airborne and ground based applications, and was
selected by the FAA to replace older technology systems installed in earlier generation
ADS-B equipped aircraft.

LoPresti
Cessna Aircraft Company’s Milwaukee Citation Service center has completed
its first Citation X customer installation of the LOPRESTI Next Generation HID
BoomBeam Lights.
According to the company, the BoomBeam HID lighting system, which is 500 percent
brighter and consumes up to 75 percent less power for operation than the stock lighting
equipment, reduces operator and owner maintenance costs while significantly reducing
the amount of time an aircraft may be grounded due to lighting failures.
“It is far better to see and be seen,” said Jeff Riley, Tempus Aviation’s chief pilot. “The
LoPresti Next Generation BoomBeam HID provides a quantum leap forward in landing
and taxi light output. BoomBeam lights are a tremendous safety enhancement for all
night operations either on the ground or in the air.”

regional sales leader for its Latin
American airlines and fleets
business. Mendoza’s appointment
complements
the
company’s
strategic objectives to expand
its business footprint and overall
investment in the Latin American
region, augmenting its existing
market position and highlighting its
extensive capabilities in turboprop
and turbofan maintenance, repair
and overhaul.
Mendoza brings to StandardAero
a background in aviation sales
management with companies like
Pratt & Whitney and, most recently,
MTU in Vancouver, Canada, where
he led teams of technicians and
buyers for a prominent South
American state-run air carrier. Early
in his career, Mendoza managed
the supply chain for Avensa Airlines
in Caracas, Venezuela. Mendoza
earned an MBA from the University
of Phoenix and completed his
undergraduate work at California
State
Polytechnic
University,
Pomona, where he received a
Bachelor of Science degree in
aerospace engineering technology.
In addition, Mendoza has a specialty
in business economics from the
Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in
Caracas Venezuela.
