Service sells, and with it, doors
open and opportunity arises. A
generator issue during one call
turned into a trip to Maui a few
days later to have it recertified.
"As for the fishing holiday,
my client was none the wiser.
Business took center stage. I've
always believed technology to be
both a hindrance and a massive
benefit. The latter is what helps
us maintain the ability to provide
the level of service we do whether
remotely, locally or from afar."
To reduce shipping times
and brokerage costs, Aeronav
maintains two U.S.-based parts
hubs that perform inventory
and limited installation-related
functions. One is located in Point
Roberts, Wash., a 40-minute
drive from the service center.
The other is a remote operation
in Phoenix, Ariz., in support of a
client that specializes in rotorcraft
completions.
"It's imperative for the survival
of our industry and arguably
karma, to not encroach on local
markets outside of our own
dealer-specific geographical
area, hence why we offer a very
specific and limited service
coupling our services and sales,"
Carinha said. "Our partners

and affiliates, albeit of no legal
connection, are extensions of
Aeronav and vice versa. This
tag team effort has helped all
involved grow their businesses
without having to bring more
overhead in-house, and allowed a
carving of the pie that leaves no
one person hungry."
For Carinha, the partnerships
are another way to serve clients
better, and resemble the breadth
and depth of larger facilities
while still providing the personal
service of a small shop.
"Our personal service cuts
red tape, overhead and enables
timely, cost-effective execution
of projects that mirror the larger
shops' work scope," Carinha said.
"My goal has always been to keep
the operation manageable without
sacrificing quality, service or
price. We wear many hats here,
but that's all part of our boutiquestyle of operation that provides a
much more personal service.
