Appareo Systems
L
ocated between the Hector International Airport and
the Fargodome in Fargo, North Dakota, Appareo
Systems is one of the recognized leaders in the custom development and manufacture of low-cost and innovative avionics solutions for original equipment manufacturers.
Through the creative application of cutting-edge technolo-

gies, the company creates complex end-to-end solutions,
including both airborne and ground station components.
Holding both Federal Aviation Administration parts manufacturer approval and ISO 9001:2008 certifications, Appareo is
proud of its turnkey services ranging from product conceptualization to supplemental type certificate attainment.
By definition, Appareo is a Greek
verb that means "to appear." In its
formative years, the company focused
on augmented reality, and the founders based the company name on this
concept. One of its first products was
AS Flight, which allows playback of
recorded flight data over 3-D space. The
product is still current, and although this
technology seems ordinary today, Appareo released it before Google Earth.
In business for more than 10 years
and an AEA member company since
2013, Appareo developed its first prod
uct in collaboration with the Bristow
Group. The effort resulted in the creation of the ALERTS (aircraft logging
and event recording for training and
safety) flight data management system,
which brought flight data monitoring to
light and legacy aircraft. This system
was recently named the Product Breakthrough of the Year by Aviation Week
