Barons, Bonanzas, 400 series twinengine Cessnas and later Mitsubishi
MU-2s. I did this for almost 1,000
hours the first year; I flew a lot, and I
enjoyed the work. We had scheduled
routes around Texas and Louisiana and
also some on-demand charter work
that took me to many places throughout the United States.
But after almost two years of traveling, I was ready to do something
closer to home and pursue my interest in maintenance, which I really
enjoy. I became the corporate maintenance manager with three departments: Part 135 air carrier; Part 145
avionics repair station; and Part 91
maintenance for customer aircraft.
As soon as I met the experience
requirements, I decided to seek an
inspector authorization to further
my career, and I discovered the
opportunity with REBTECH.

What interested you
about REBTECH?

I like the product, and that's
what led me to REBTECH. I was
attracted to the significant safety
it adds to the aircraft of all types
and mission profiles. REBTECH has
long been an innovator of advanced
night vision technology and a leader in other types of lighting, both
for civil and military aircraft around
the world.

What is the corporate
culture at REBTECH?

REBTECH is still a family-run
company with an atmosphere of
cooperation and the goal to provide

our customers with the absolute
best solutions for their specific
night lighting requirements. I certainly enjoy having the confidence
of the owner and president, Richard
Borkowski, who allows me the
opportunity to do my job to the
best of my ability with the upmost
confidence in my knowledge and
my contribution to the team here.

You really enjoy the
hands-on aspect of your
work, right?

That's really what I desire. I
enjoy going out and traveling to
an aircraft, talking to the customer
and see how flight operations are
being conducted - working hand in
hand with customers. I like the end
result of the product that makes so
many flight operations a lot safer
and possible because of the level of
safety it adds - law enforcement,
search and rescue, air medical, firefighting. I'd like to think we add a
certain measure of increased safety
along with the potential to expand
their missions.

What do you enjoy
outside of work?

My wife, Jennifer, and I have
two sons, Trey, 16, and his brother,
Cameron, 11. We enjoy hunting,
fishing and camping with the boys.
They also enjoy aviation, and we
try to always make the annual flyin and campout in Recklaw, Texas,
with friends where we see so many
different antique, homebuilt and
general aviation aircraft.

Tell me about your sons.

Trey is into his Pontiac TransAm. He
gets his love for cars from his mother,
but I love to teach him how to do the
repairs and make performance modifications. We recently installed a new
exhaust system and stereo system. He
also helps me work on a friend's airplane in trade for flying lessons. Both
of my boys have been flying since they
could reach the controls.
Cameron loves outdoor activities, especially hunting and riding his
motorcycle. He got his motorcycle bug
from me. I worked as a motorcycle
mechanic during college. He wants to
start flying lessons and get his pilot's
license as soon as he is old enough.

What about Jennifer?

Jennifer is a very dedicated mother
and wife and puts her family first,
but still manages to work full time.
She is an office manager and administrative assistant for an environmental training company. Jennifer's
favorite outdoor activity is riding her
personal watercraft on the lake.

What do you see
in the future?

I'm looking forward to a long
employment at REBTECH. They
promote within the company. For
REBTECH, we will have continued
development of new products and
lighting systems, and I look forward to
sharing that with the customers. q
