product, which are adjustable anytime, anywhere. Rockwell
Collins said its Airshow 500 is a "thoroughly modernized,
lighter-weight drop-in replacement" for its Airshow 400,
410 and Airshow Network (without information ticker), and
provides on-aircraft control of a wide variety of options.
It's compatible with legacy monitors as well as newer
widescreen displays with digital inputs.
Airshow 500 also is compatible with Rockwell Collins'
Airshow interactive app for the Apple iPad. Through an
onboard wireless access point connected to the Airshow 500,
passengers can view a display of the outside world from any
direction the iPad is pointed, plus interactive information
including a user-controlled information ticker.

When considering a new glass-panel installation, many
customers may be discouraged by the lack of options for
standby instrumentation: Why install more steam gauges
when everything else is on a flat-panel display? Sandia
Aerospace's newest product, the SAI 340 Quattro, is
designed to answer
that question by
providing a costeffective replacement
for steam-gauge
standby instruments
in EFIS-equipped
aircraft. The Quattro
displays indicated
airspeed, barometric
altitude, roll and
pitch, and provides
slip indication.
Sandia's SAI 340 Quattro
According to the
company, Sandia's
SAI 340 Quattro displays air transportquality graphics in an easy-to-read EFIS presentation. The
unit is powered by a small, rechargeable lithium battery
that guarantees 30 minutes of operation and can operate
for up to two hours. Other features of the Quattro include
pilot-entered barometric correction, automatic and manual
backlight control, internal battery-charge status, and a panel46

tilt configuration. The SAI 340 Quattro is designed to fit a
standard 3-inch instrument hole mounting, and requires only
DC power and connections to the aircraft's pitot and static
systems.
The SAI 340 Quattro 4-in-1 standby indicator is approved
under six different TSOs, including TSO-C2d (Type B),
TSO-C3e, TSO-C4c, TSO-C10b (Type I), TSO-C113a
and TSO-C201 (A5 HX T7). It also meets RTCA DO-347,
DO 178C (Level C) and DO 160G standards. It will retail
for $3,595. The company expects the new product will be
available in the third quarter of 2014.

Universal Avionics Systems Corp.
Robert Randall introduced Universal's Software Control
Number 31.0 for the UniLink UL-800/801 Communications
Management Unit during the AEA Convention. He told
attendees Universal's latest software release will provide its
UniLink customers the necessary controller-pilot datalink
communications message sets to meet EUROCONTROL's
Link 2000+ requirements, which are set to go into effect
Feb. 5, 2015.
The new software release also seeks to simplify
messaging when using different regional systems. Thanks
to incompatibilities between FANS 1/A messaging and Link
2000+ airspace, SCN 31.0 also features FANS/ATN CPDLC
