VELOCITY AEROSPACE GROUP announced a
strategic acquisition with management of E.D.N. Aviation
Inc. of Van Nuys, California. According to Velocity, the
move expands the company's repair and overhaul service
capabilities into control panel services.
Founded in 1991, EDN is an FAA-EASA approved
repair station and an ISO9001:2000 certified industry
leader in the manufacture, repair and refurbishment of
aircraft cockpit panels. EDN also specializes in multi-unit
fabrication and engineering/design services for various
panel components, such as light plates, circuit breaker
panels, control wheels and knobs.
EDN will continue to be led by its current management
team, which includes MOTTI KURZWEIL, president.

Velocity Aerospace awarded GREG VAIL of Flightstar
an Apple iPad Mini. Vail became the second of 12 monthly
winners to win the prize. The promotional contest was

launched at this year's AEA International Convention
& Trade Show in Nashville. Individuals who visited the

an Apple iPad Mini.

Avionics & Systems Integration Group
AVIONICS & SYSTEMS INTEGRATION GROUP (ASIG),
Shadin Avionics and SpatiOS jointly announced the issuance
of FAA AML-STC No. ST11156SC for the flyTab iPad EFB in
Part 25 aircraft.
The STC authorizes the installation of a Dual flyTab
Class 2 iPad EFB in any Part 25 aircraft, according to an
approved model list maintained by the Avionics & Systems
Integration Group.
According to the company, configurations under the AML
contain the CL-600 series, including all CRJ models, DHC-8
series, Q-400 and B767-200/300 series aircraft; however,
several other type/model series are currently in development.
"The achievement of an AML-STC for the flyTab Class
2 iPad EFB not only demonstrates flyTab and the Apple
iPad's ability to integrate with modern avionics and meet
all the necessary airworthiness and flight operational
requirements, it also demonstrates the FAA and other

CAA's move toward embracing iPad EFBs as a cornerstone
enabler of NextGen and SAESAR technologies," said
LUKE RIBICH, managing director of ASIG. "At ASIG and
throughout the flyTab consortium, we believe that EFBs
are more than just installed hardware; rather, EFBs are
best defined by the software features and functions they
perform. That is why flyTab is more than just an EFB or
maintenance terminal; it is an eco-system capable of
