vionics specialists at Aerovalley Technologies
must be ready for just about any project. Just off
the coast of South Australia at Adelaide Airport,
aircraft engineers install a new audio panel in a Cessna 402.
Some 23 kilometers inland in the picturesque, secluded valley
of Adelaide Hills at Norton Summit, manufacturing specialists
assemble integrated audio systems for Dash 8 turboprop
airliners. At Alice Springs Airport, 1,500 kilometers north in
the heart of Australia, aircraft engineers install instruments on a
JetRanger helicopter.

Technicians recently installed a glass cockpit in a Cessna 441 Conquest II.

Throughout the years, Aerovalley Technologies has evolved
to keep up with demand and provide customers with simple
and effective solutions. Today, it spans three facilities in
southern Australia, servicing aircraft and avionics, as well as
manufacturing aircraft products and components. The privately
owned company's 11 employees include experienced designers
and CASA-licensed maintenance engineers.
Expanding the manufacturing side
At its Norton Summit location, Aerovalley Technologies
custom designs, prototypes and manufactures mission-specific
equipment, including aircraft avionics interface adaptors,
consoles, racks, connectors and loom assemblies. In addition to
its own avionics and cabin electronics, such as an audio control
panel, variable power supply, commercial radio interface
and airborne modular intercom system, the company holds
CASA manufacturing approvals for machined and sheet metal
components and light flow panels.
"We started with manufacturing aircraft electronic
components and later diversified to include light flow
panels and aluminium components to complement avionics
installations, and added base maintenance of aircraft,"
explained Loretta Wheatland, quality manager for the
company. "Our customers come from a broad group both
nationally and internationally. They also come from a variety of
industries, including airlines, charter services, general aviation
and military."
