Brett Wheatland, licensed aircraft maintenance engineer and founder of Aerovalley Technologies, performs maintenance on a fleet of helicopters on

Aerovalley Technologies plans to continue evolving by
expanding its manufacturing capabilities to include hose
assemblies, cable assemblies and wiring harnesses. Owner
and founder Brett Wheatland, a licensed aircraft maintenance
engineer who specializes in avionics, created many of the
company's systems and components.
"I was working in aircraft maintenance and had an interest in
manufacturing so I started the company," said Brett Wheatland,
who has more than 35 years of experience in aviation,
working on a variety of aircraft, from single-engine pistons to
helicopters to business jets, including Gulfstreams, Hawkers and
Challengers. "I thought it would be a good way to support the
aviation industry as well as broaden manufacturing in Australia."
Although Aerovalley Technologies has been successfully
manufacturing aviation-related products for nearly 17 years, it
doesn't represent the norm for Australia. Overall, the country's
manufacturing industry has been declining. In 2013 to 2014,
manufacturing's share of gross domestic product was 6.5 percent,
less than half of what it was four decades earlier, according to the

manufactures a variety of components such as this light flow panel for
a night vision imaging system.
