By monitoring flight data over time, technicians can see trends and anomalies and make adjustments that improve an aircraft's safety and efficiency. Since 1999, Avionica in Miami, Florida, has been making tools to help operators capture and transfer their flight data. Avionica's engineers design and build miniaturized flight data collection and transmission equipment for commercial, business and rotor aircraft. The company's flight data quick access recorders are installed on more than 7,000 aircraft, mostly airliners and business jets with some helicopters.
