Trig Avionics
TRIG AVIONICS announced its TT31 transponder has been improved.
Popular as a direct plug and play for the KT76A and KT78A, the TT31 has
previously required a tray change when installing ADS-B, according to the company. Now faster and easier installation is possible for ADS-B Out, too. Using
software version 3.11 or higher, installers can now use the original installed
tray, further reducing the time and cost of a compliant ADS-B install.
"Our free FAA ADS-B STC, which covers over 650 aircraft models, is available via qualified approved Trig dealers," said ANDY CAMPBELL, customer
support manager.
The company said Trig transponders can be used with a range of certified
WAAS GPS sources to provide 2020 ADS-B compliance. Peregrine of Denver,
Colorado, is Trig's STC partner. Other GPS solutions also are available, including Trig's TN70 kit. This is designed as an easy retrofit for noncompliant aircraft
and includes a WAAS GPS unit and antenna.

Trig recently celebrated the opening of a new, custom-built facility at Heriot
Watt Research Park. According to the company, it will accommodate a growing
team based together under one roof.

WESTENKIRCHNER service center
manager, where he will be responsible
for the overall operation and growth of
the maintenance division, as well as efficiency gains and team development.
Westenkirchner received his A&P
certification at the Teterboro School of
Aeronautics in 1993, and had his first
introduction to aviation while working at
Newark Airport as an aircraft fueler and
tank farm technician from 1992 to 1996.
He later became a Honeywell field service engineer, where he provided maintenance technical support for Honeywell
Mechanical products that included the
TPE331, TFE731, HTF7000, APU and
ECS systems.
