of transponders were required to meet
the European-wide mandate for Mode
S. At the time, aircraft owners had few
viable options available, so Davis and
his team intended to change this.
From Trig's Edinburgh base in
Scotland, the company encompasses
all aspects of design, development,
quality and manufacture. Trig is proud
to manufacture within the United
Kingdom, continuing a strong aviation
tradition.
Trig's first product was the TT31
transponder. Its ease of installation
remains a huge attraction as a
fast retrofit for the KT76A and
KT78A. Trig's next product was

its compact line of transponders,
the TT21 and TT22. These remain
the world's smallest certified Mode
S transponders. Trig has a "Better

by Design" philosophy, ensuring
products are simple to use, truly
innovative and provide pilots with

Trig has established a following
from across general aviation -
from the glider pilot looking to fit
avionics in the tightest panel space,
to heavier general aviation types
and helicopters relying on Trig's
high-powered transponders and

radios. Recently, the company has
been active with an ADS-B STC
program that includes 650 popular
aircraft types. This provides North
American customers with a highly
practical way to meet the FAA 2020
mandate for ADS-B Out using Trig
equipment.
