small- to medium-sized production runs, the
system accepts a wide variety of wires and
cables from 6 to 26 gauge.

step-by-step assembly instruction, the digital wiring
board increases accuracy and reduces change over time.
Also released in 2013, the SYLADE 7, LASELEC's
third major product, is a compact desktop laser wire
stripper. In the past, blades have been typically used
to strip the covering off wires, but LASELEC's system
uses a laser instead. It consistently strips wires two
to four times faster, depending on the wire type, than
thermal methods, according to Laval.
The system automatically measures the cable
diameter, and the integrated laser heads rotate so
each can cut half the circumference of the wire. Even
inexperienced operators can perform the cut. When
using the manual method of stripping, the blades require
adjustments, sharpening and replacement, making the
utilization of manual stripping far more involved.

Expanding into more markets
LASELEC manufactures everything at its main
production house in France. The location also provides
service and support for European and Asian customers.
In 2004, the company opened a branch facility in
Arlington, Texas, for sales and customer support in
North and South America.
"We have our own sales force and our own support
team to maintain LASELEC products. In our repair
facility, we have several technicians who provide inhouse repairs as well as fly all over North and South
America servicing customers' equipment," said Dina
Clayburn, technical sales assistant in Texas.
