regular public transport operations, the CASA is reviewing
ongoing and general certification and maintenance matters
currently covered within airworthiness directives, legislative and nonlegislative instruments and aviation advisory
circulars. Where those matters are more appropriately dealt
with via Civil Aviation Order 100.5, the CASA is seeking
to incorporate those matters within the CAO.

In addition, Draft AC 21-24 v1.0 - Flight recorder and
underwater locating device maintenance - has been published on the CASA website.
The purpose of this AC is to provide guidance maintenance of aircraft flight data recorders, cockpit voice recorders and underwater locating devices. This AC does not
provide advice or standards for the installation of recorders
and ULDs; however, the contents of this AC should be
considered when preparing the instructions for continued
airworthiness for a new installation.
The project leader for the draft AC 21-24 v1.0 is
Jayson Rowe.

NPRM 15-02 Part 100 Safety Management
This notice of proposed rulemaking proposes new
rules, Part 100, to address safety management system
requirements; and consequential amendments to Parts
19F, 115, 121, 125, 135, 137, 139, 141, 145, 146,
148, 149, 171, 172, 173, 174 and 175. There also is a
draft revision to the advisory circular AC00-4 Safety
Management Systems; which has been renumbered
to AC100-1 Safety Management, to align with the
proposed new rule part. The SMS page has been
updated to reflect these changes.

Maintenance Organizations - effective May 1, 2015
Revision 5 is a general revision and incorporates recent
rule amendments to Part 145, the introduction of Part 115
and advisory material for the inclusion of safety management systems within the organization exposition. q
