Genesys Aerosystems
Genesys Aerosystems has
three product lines, according to
Jamie Luster, director of sales
and marketing: S-TEC fixedwing autopilots (with more
than 1,500 STCs), HeliSAS
helicopter autopilots and stability
augmentation systems, and EFIS for
both categories. Becoming a dealer
for one or all three lines depends on
a shop's customer base. In addition
to voluntary training sessions at the
AEA International Convention &
Trade Show, it is developing online
training presentations.
"Obviously, we don't want a
cluster of dealers on the same
airport," she continued, "but we
realize that aircraft owners often have
a relationship with a specific shop,
so we don't want them to go against
it. Generally, it isn't a problem
because when an airport has more
than one shop, each of them focuses
on different aircraft ... singles, twins,
turboprops, helicopters."
Sustaining the dealership
depends on overall activity rather
than a specific sales target, Luster
added. "If a dealer is inactive for
several years, we'll review the
