Latitude Technologies manufactures and provides flight data
monitoring plus flight following,
alongside satellite data and voice communications
equipment and services. The company said its newest offering,
the DL150 FANS 1/A+ satellite data unit, which is designed
to provide next-generation satellite services, is the first lightweight multifunction product of its kind on the market. Based
on Latitude's S100, the DL150 provides Iridium satellite communications for a FANS-compliant flight management system
and/or an ACARS-ATS management unit via an ARINC 741
interface.
The DL150 provides the satellite connectivity for a FANS
1/A+ CPDLC (controller-pilot data link communications)
system, allowing capture and retransmission of Satcom
messages and meeting the requirements of FAA Advisory
Circular 20-140B, "Guidelines for Design Approval of Aircraft
Data Link Communication Systems Supporting Air Traffic
Services." The DL150 SDU also is designed to meet TSO
159b, plus DO-262B, DO-178C Level D and DO-160G.
Latitude adds that its DL 150 exceeds existing recommendations from the International Civil Aviation Organization for
its proposed global aeronautical distress and safety system for
triggered position-based reporting, including data streaming in
case of imminent incident
In addition to meeting various design and technical standards, the DL150 features a built-in accelerometer for in-flight
anomaly sensing, incorporates its own GPS with SBAS and
provides spare ARINC 429 receive channels for optional
interfaces to a flight-data acquisition unit, GPS or FMS. It
offers discrete inputs to monitor weight on wheels, doors and
other sensors aboard the aircraft and it's capable of streaming
unrestricted digital internetworking connectivity solutions,
an enhanced data service allowing customers with large data
transfer requirements across the Iridium satellite network.

Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics is known for many
things, including its origins as a repair station and its powermanagement products under the True Blue brand. It's also
known for its manufactured avionics and flight instruments,
including the MD302 2-inch standby attitude module, or
SAM, a solid-state instrument displaying attitude, altitude,
airspeed, slip, vertical trend, and heading information to the

mary instrument failure.
New for the SAM in 2015 is
heading information display and
field configuration of altitude,
and airspeed, plus a live configuration preview and a battery-preservation
storage mode. All that - and a variable do-not-exceed speed
- now comes in software version 1.04 for the MD302, which
itself is available at a lower price in 2015. The field-installable
and updated software is available for in-service SAMs at no
charge; heading information requires a suitable ARINC 429
input. Additionally, Mid-Continent has added numerous piston
airplanes to its STC's approved model list, including popular
models from Beechcraft, Cessna and Cirrus.

output, a self-contained emergency battery and LED backlighting. The company
also added to its power management products by introducing
the MD93, a 2-inch device combining an LED-digital clock/
stopwatch and two USB charging ports, delivering 2.1 amps to
each. It features automatic and manual dimming plus an eightyear internal clock battery.

PS Engineering
Twenty years ago, PS Engineering introduced its first
audio panel, the PMA6000, which set a new standard in that
market. Since then, the company has become a well-known
innovator, and it chose the AEA Convention to introduce the
PMA6000's new replacement, the PMA7000M. Like the -6000,
the PMA7000M is a six-place monaural audio panel, and it's
designed to be plug-and-play with its predecessor.
