Bluetooth wireless connectivity and
replaces the manual squelch system with
the company's Intellivox automatic capability. No rewiring is required to replace
a PMA6000 with the -7000M unless the
latter's two extra inputs are used. The
PMA7000M retails for $1,495, and since
it's designed as a replacement unit, that
price doesn't include a tray or install kit.
PS Engineering also introduced the
PMA8000E, which builds on the company's flagship product and optimizes it
for the dual-audio-panel corporate environment. It's a three-radio solution with
Intellivox built in and an optional marker
beacon receiver. It includes a streamlined
interface and unique feature set designed
to recognize the corporate market's needs.
The PMA8000E is available now, with
installation kit, for $7,695 a pair.
Also newly available from PS
Engineering is the PDA360EX, which
was designed for the experimental,
amateur-built airplane market. It counts
a four-place intercom, Intellivox, a USB
charging port and Bluetooth among its
features. The PDA360EX offers four
unswitched inputs, three switched inputs
and two stereo music inputs. It's available
now at a $1,995 retail price.
PS Engineering also introduced the
PMA7000BT and -7000HBT, both of
which add Bluetooth to the -7000's
strong feature set aboard airplanes and
helicopters.

Rockwell Collins
Chuck Wade from Rockwell Collins
briefed attendees at the AEA Convention
on his company's new-product
announcements. They include significant
upgrades to many in-service installations
and add new cockpit systems for popular
business aircraft.
For example, Rockwell Collins' new
CMU-1000 datalink provides FANS
1/A compatibility for Pro Line 4 and 21
installations. According to the company,
the FANS 1/A upgrade consists of new

avionics hardware and associated service
bulletin updates to support automatic
dependent surveillance-contract and
controller pilot data link communications. The new box's form factor helps
minimize downtime by reusing existing
mounting locations for earlier CMU
equipment. The CMU-1000 reportedly builds on earlier equipment from
Rockwell Collins, which the company
has labeled "the most sophisticated data
link system in the industry."
Wade told attendees the new AFD3700 brings Rockwell Collins' Pro Line
Fusion technology, which the com-

pany said is a "fully integrated flight
deck with unsurpassed and pioneering
features for business and commercial
aircraft," to aircraft presently configured
with Pro Line 2. The company said
the AFD-3700 brings three 14.1-inch
touchscreen display panels to the cockpit, which is the most "glass" available under any retrofit program for the
Beechcraft King Air fleet.
Rockwell Collins also has developed
a moving map application for devices
using the Android operating system,
