POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The College of Applied Sciences and Arts (ASA) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking
eligible applicants for the above anticipated position beginning January 1, 2016. This is a nine-month,
continuing Tenure-Track appointment. This position will support the baccalaureate degree in Aviation
Technologies developed to prepare aviation technicians with advanced technical skills.

N E W S

Required Qualifications: Earned master's degree, required by time of appointment, and
minimum professional experience of three years full-time employment in aircraft maintenance, avionics
maintenance, repair or installation, aircraft/engine manufacturing or product support environment. Valid
FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant Ratings. One earned degree in an aviation
electronics related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications: Earned doctorate; IA; DER. Successful post-secondary teaching
experience in aircraft maintenance and avionics and/or product support. FCC certification. Demonstrated
history of scholarly productivity in Aviation Technologies or related fields. FAA Mechanic Certificate
obtained as the result of completing an FAA-approved Part 147 curriculum.
