Based just west of Grand Rapids, Michigan, at Riverview Airport, like many aircraft its age, an amalgamation of avionics filled its panel. A WAAS GPS navigator was essential for IFR flight M . S P A N G L E R in the 21st century - and meeting the Federal Aviation Administration's ADS-B Out mandate. When Avidyne announced its IFD540 in 2012, Cook and his partners took advantage of "the great deal Avidyne offered to buyers."
