Canadore College Maxcraft Avionics CANADORE COLLEGE recently showcased its new Advanced Composites Fabrication, Repair and Test Centre to dignitaries, industry and the broader community. The Centre features new lab space for composite materials and nondestructive testing and is appointed with specialized equipment that will enhance student instruction and industry innovation. For more information, visit canadorecollege.ca. q MAXCRAFT AVIONICS received FAA validation of its Transport Canada STC SH0441 (FAA STC SR03573NY) for installation of the Garmin GNS or GTN series navigators in the Sikorsky S76A/C series of rotorcraft. The applicability of this package has now expanded to include GNS WAAS and GTN navigators, as well as all Honeywell EDZ-705/756 EFIS, and SPZ7000 or SPZ-7600 DDAFCS systems. According to the company, the GNS/GTN navigators are ideally suited for the Sikorsky S76A & C rotorcraft, offering an integrated VHF-COM transceiver, VOR/ILS receiver, as well as GPS en route, terminal and nonprecision GPS approach capability. When coupled with a reliable integration to the aircraft, considerable panel and console space is recovered. For more information, visit maxcraft.ca. q Thomas Global Systems THOMAS GLOBAL SYSTEMS signed an agreement with Saab AB (Saab) in relation to Thomas Global's TFD-8601 LCD cockpit display, a pioneering plug-and-play LCD replacement for aging CRT displays in corporate and regional aircraft, including the Saab 340. Under the agreement, Saab will issue a service bulletin providing for installation of the TFD-8601 in Saab 340 aircraft, recognizing the significant benefits the new product brings to aircraft operators, owners and lessors. Thomas Global and Saab will cooperate closely in the marketing of the TFD-8601 to the global Saab 340 fleet.
