OK3 AIR owner Nadim AbuHaidar, a former U.S. Navy
pilot, flies his Extra Flugzeugbau EA300, two-seat aerobatic
monoplane. In the Navy, every aircraft carrier landing is
graded. OK3 (underlined) means a perfect landing.

numerous Garmin and L-3 upgrades and installations.
"We upgraded a Meridian with all-new Garmin avionics,
including the Garmin G500 flight display system and the
Garmin GTN 750 integrated GPS/Nav/Com/MFD," Dowling
said. "Plus, we completely rewired all of the previous wiring. Typically, we complete avionics upgrades in two to three
weeks, depending on the scope of the project and availability
of the units. This particular upgrade took about three months.
Our team worked on it in between regularly scheduled maintenance customers, taking a bit longer."
The service center is an authorized dealer for most major
avionics manufacturers, including Garmin, Aspen Avionics,
Cobham/S-Tec, PS Engineering, Honeywell, L-3 Aviation
Products and Trig Avionics. Soon, customers will have a
chance to get their hands on the latest avionics in OK3 AIR's
new 2,000-square-foot showroom.
"We are currently in the process of renovating our maintenance lobby to accommodate a full-panel, interactive avionics display," Dowling said. "It will feature some of the latest
Garmin and L-3 avionics products, including the Garmin GTN
750 GPS/Nav/Com/MFD and G600 integrated flight display
and L-3's ESI-500 electronic standby instrument system."

Experience in the air and on the ground
A fondness for general aviation and aerobatic flying fills
the air here. There's good reason. Many of the employees,
including the owner, are long-time pilots and enjoy flying
the scenic Heber Valley.
Nadim AbuHaidar purchased the business in 2000 after
serving 10 years in the U.S. Navy as an F/A-18 Hornet carrier pilot, deploying twice to Iraq in support of Operation
Southern Watch. After graduating from the Navy Fighter
Weapons School, known as Top Gun, in 1997, Nadim
spent three years as an F/A-18 tactics instructor with the
Strike Fighter Weapons School at Naval Air Station Lemoore in California. During the last 30 years, AbuHaidar
has accumulated more than 6,000 flight hours in some 30
different aircraft types.
"I grew up in an aviation family," AbuHaidar said. "My
grandfather worked for Pan Am all his life, and my father
ran a cargo airline in the Middle East. I have always been
around airplanes. I really love the tremendous diversity
