The CASA has registered Civil Aviation Legislation
Amendment (Part 66) Regulation 2015 on the Federal
Register of Legislative Instruments.
This regulation amends Part 66 - Continuing airworthiness
- aircraft engineer licenses and ratings, of the Civil Aviation
Safety Regulations 1998 to provide for a small aircraft
maintenance license structure using new ratings (group
ratings) for the existing Part 66 category B1 (mechanical) and
category B2 (avionics) aircraft maintenance engineer license
format, which will cover maintenance of aircraft systems and
subsystems on small aircraft.

The CASA has published a revision to AC 21-53 v1.0 -
electromagnetic compatibility.
The purpose of this AC is to provide guidance on aircraft
electromagnetic interference, electromagnetic compatibility,
lightning protection and high-intensity radiated fields.

Instrument 2015 has been registered on the Federal Register
of Legislative Instruments and commenced Dec. 11, 2015.
This order remakes Civil Aviation Order 100.16 Instrument
2006 to include corrections and revisions to clarify aspects of
the order, including the identification of persons responsible
for the reporting of rejected components and the guidance
for such reporting under the requirements of Part 4B of CAR
1988.
