TDR-94D(-500) series transponders. The Blue Avionics BA440 Router/Filter is used to monitor the full ADS-B system
and to condition the ARINC 429 output from the Honeywell
GNSSU HG2021GD04/06 SBAS GPS to interface with the
Rockwell Collins TDR-94D (-500 Series) transponder. The
BA-440 also is used for INS filtering to the TDR-94D on
some of the aircraft.
The pairing of the three subsystems as certified by the
Dassault ODA STC provides Falcon operators with perceptive annunciations and intuitive pilot failure procedures. The
multifunctional BA-440 provides an upgradable solution for
future growth while providing a fully compliant solution for
today's regulatory requirements to meet the Jan. 1, 2020,
mandate deadline for ADS-B Out DO-260B retrofits.
"We are pleased to support Dassault Falcon Jet/Dassault Aircraft Services with our multifunctional BA-440 Router/Filter,"
Cairns said when the announcement was made during the week
of the NBAA Convention & Exhibition. "The BA- 440 system
has proven itself to not only provide fully compliant ADS-B
DO-260B solutions with above pairings, but also provide the

flexibility and configuration ability to handle differences in the
aircraft model avionics suites and future modifications using its
highly configurable capabilities. For instance, the pairing of the
Honeywell GNSSU and Rockwell Collins transponder is possible by using the BA-440's configurable data rate and ARINC
block-handling features. These configurable features enable the
BA-440 to interface the Honeywell GNSSU HG2021GDXX
and CMC CMA-3024/5024 SBAS GPS units to the Collins
TDR-94D transponders IAW DO-260B PVT Nav Data Block
requirements."
The value of the BA-440 system is in its flexibility and
capability to perform more than just a single ADS-B function such as turning on a light. The BA-440 system provides
comprehensive support of ADS-B, while it provides future
support for NextGen systems requiring an ARINC 429
interface and/or discrete combinations by simply using the
installed BA-440 system for ADS-B with only an update to
the installed configuration plug's personality table.
