and Industry Affairs Committee
meeting on Tuesday, April 26. This
committee helps support and guide
the membership's government
affairs activities. Committee
members will review the activities
of the past six months and offer
recommendations for regulatory
products and services moving
forward.
To begin the first three days
of the AEA Convention, an AEA
Regulatory Rise and Shine session
will take place each morning. These
well-attended sessions will discuss
critical regulatory topics facing the
industry. With a slight adjustment
from previous years, the AEA is
seeking more of an open dialog and
exchange with those in attendance
rather than using a presentation
format.
Following Thursday's Rise and
Shine session, the conversation
will continue with a Regulatory
Forum that includes FAA
Administrator Michael P. Huerta.
The administrator and I are from
the same area of California and
are close to the same age. When
he talks about his days as a young
boy delivering the local newspaper
via bicycle and stopping to watch
airplanes at the local airport, it hits
home. I suspect it will hit home
with many folks in attendance.
Huerta's passion for aviation,
particularly general aviation, has
proven to exceed my expectations,
and I look forward to welcoming
him to the AEA Convention.
In addition, the AEA's
international regulatory roundtable discussions will take place
Thursday and Friday, April 28-29.

On Thursday, the AEA Canada
round-table discussion is scheduled,
followed Friday with the South
Pacific round-table discussion.

On Saturday, April 30, the AEA
will wrap up the week with four
hours of regulatory training. Three
regulatory sessions are planned, so
attendees may choose any or all of
the sessions that best fit their needs
and interests. The three sessions on
the convention's last day include the
following:

Major/Minor.
*	 Repair Station Basics -
Developing and Maintaining
a Capabilities List.
*	 Repair Station Basics
- Managing Contract
Maintenance.
Saturday morning will begin
with a two-hour conversation
on alterations, one that always
generates good conversation and
has international appeal. The Back
