3. Social media. Apps, such as
Facebook, represent a huge portion of
mobile usage - as a much as a quarter,
according to comScore. These sites
already make their content mobilefriendly, but review your profile on
tablets and smartphones to ensure your
location, hours of operation, business
category and other key information is
presented front-and-center. Social ads
- on Facebook, for example, which are
served up after customers search for you
on Google - further remind prospects
about your avionics shop, especially if
you give a special offer when they click
on the image.
4. Video. According to Cisco, video
comprises roughly half of all mobile
media consumption, and the majority of
mobile users prefer it to text. Share the
story of your brand and its benefits, testimonials from customers, and case studies
about how you've solved problems in
the past. And with such sites as YouTube
and Vimeo optimized in their own right,
you not only get content that's compelling, but also stories that are shareable
between prospects.
5. Location-based marketing. You
can geo-target ads to connect with customers when they're in your area - for
example, during fly-ins at your airport,
or even at trade shows or aviation
events that you're attending. The idea
is simple: When a prospective customer
is near your location, he's served a
time-sensitive ad on his mobile device
- through, for example, social media.
Add a coupon for checking in, and you
reward customers for visiting when
they're primed to shop.
All of these mobile marketing tactics
offer you a whole new way of reaching out to your customers and connect
their needs with the service and products your avionics shop provides. With
mobile-optimized search, content and
offers, you'll take steps that can make
your avionics shop irresistible, which is
pretty smart. q

By the early 1980s, Duncan Aviation had an
excellent reputation for responsive service and
technical knowledge. Much of that reputation
came

from

development

of

the

company's

large avionics loaner pool and free telephone
troubleshooting assistance. One comment then
Duncan Aviation president Robert Duncan always
fielded was whether a Duncan Aviation shop
would come to a customer's home airport. In 1985,
Duncan Aviation acted. The company worked
with maintenance facilities around the country
to develop agreements that allowed mutual
customers to receive local avionics service from
Duncan Aviation technicians.
More than 30 years later, these seedling shops
have grown into the current network of 25 avionics
repair shops and additional fixed locations that
Duncan Aviation operates at busy corporate
airports around the country. And we still listen to
customer wishes and respond by developing and
providing experience, unlike any other.
