models. That year also marked
the recognition of TrueNorth as a
trusted supplier to aircraft OEMs
when the company signed an
agreement with then Satcom Direct
(now SD) to provide a router called
the SDR.
That product now stands as the
world's most popular airborne
router, according to the company.
In 2014, TrueNorth also earned
FAA TSO approval for its Data Link
and opened the way to functional
FANS-over-Iridium two-way datalink
communications.
Then in 2015, avionics
powerhouse Honeywell tapped
TrueNorth for the CNX-250 router
under a long-term contract that
has the TrueNorth router replacing
Honeywell's original router in its
cabin gateway products.

While Optelity's launch occurred
in 2014, it wasn't until the next year
that TrueNorth started shipping -
and landing in a growing fleet of
business, government and private

In the mid-1980s, new surplus aircraft parts were
abundant throughout the industry. As business flight
missions changed, operators would switch aircraft,
leaving spare parts for their former aircraft taking up
valuable storage space. Then Duncan Aviation president
Robert Duncan heard operators comment about this
