The new aera 660 is a 5-inch touchscreen device
with a built-in GPS/GLONASS receiver. It incorporates
the company's standard features, such as new Connext
wireless capabilities and the WireAware wire-strike
avoidance technology. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
connectivity, and display of ADS-B In traffic and weather
from a variety of sources, help round out the new
portable's features.
Garmin's panel-mount GTX 345 Mode S Extended
Squitter transponder, meanwhile, provides a one-box,
one-swap solution that enables owners and operators to
meet ADS-B requirements with minimal expense, downtime and disruption to their panels while providing all the
weather and traffic benefits of ADS-B In on compatible
displays. The GTX 335 is the remote-mounted version,
with identical features.
Garmin's G5 EFI, designed by its Team X engineering
group for experimental and light sport aircraft, combines
visual cues and data readouts once scattered across an
instrument panel and places them into one 3.5-inch display. Flight information presented to the pilot by the G5
includes attitude, vertical speed, altitude, airspeed, slip/
skid and barometric settings, plus there's a built-in GPS
receiver to provide a highly accurate ground speed and
ground track readout. The complete G5 fits into a single
3-1/8-inch standard instrument cutout.

Gogo Business Aviation
Gogo is an in-flight connectivity and wireless entertainment
services market leader among commercial and business operators. The company has partnerships with 14 airlines, and
its equipment is installed on more than 2,500 of their aircraft.
Meanwhile, nearly 7,000 business aircraft are flying with its
connectivity solutions, including the world's largest fractional
fleets. Gogo is a factory option at every major business aircraft
manufacturer and serves a global customer base.
For 2016, Gogo is offering new, low-cost and fixed-rate

service plans for its entry-level ATG-1000 hardware of $39
per hour. At that price point, customers get basic email capability, plus the ability to use a smartphone to make calls and
send texts. Soon, the service will connect select cockpit and
operational apps to the outside world while airborne. Hourly
pricing also is available for the step-up ATG-2000 unit.
Gogo Vision is the company's in-flight entertainment
service, which now comes standard with the company's
UCS 5000, a smart router offering 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi service
and a single SSID for cabin network and CMS control. Gogo
announced the service now comes with predictable monthly
costs and automatic hangar updates via Wi-Fi. The system
allows users to view a wide array of content on mobile
devices or cabin monitors.
Finally, the company reports its Gogo Biz 4G service,
which it promises will bring the latest smartphone connectivity to the airborne cabin, is on track for its debut in early
2017. Gogo said it successfully completed the initial phase of
flight testing for the service during a recent four-hour flighttest sortie aboard the company's Challenger 600 testbed.
Gogo said its new 4G service and related hardware are designed specifically for the business aviation market, and will
incorporate dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and other features in
a single, lightweight box.

and located in Gig Harbor, Washington. The CPD is designed
to automatically lower a helicopter's collective when a low
rotor RPM warning occurs. That's one of the first steps a
pilot should take in recovering from such a condition, but
the CPD does it automatically. According to the company,
"This allows the pilot more time to react to a power loss in
order to avoid a catastrophic result."
HeliTrak also announced final development of an autopilot for the Robinson R22. Coupling both products creates
significant improvements in personal and training helicopter
flight safety, the company said.
With the CPD, a helicopter's collective is pulled down in
about a half second, according to the company, enabling
it to enter autorotation. The CPD is lightweight (under 2
