FACILITIES: 17,000 square feet
WHAT THEY DO: Twin Cities Aviation
is an FAA Part 145 repair station
specializing in general aviation
aircraft maintenance and avionics.
FOUNDED: 1997 by Bill Ahmann
CURRENT OWNER: TC Aero Group
AEA MEMBER SINCE: 2016
Twin Cities Aviation specializes in avionics installations for a variety of aircraft, from
smaller aircraft such as this Cessna 210 up through turboprops and jets.
A new beginning
The partnership with Custom Avionics allows Twin Cities
Aviation to offer avionics capabilities to the service center's
active maintenance clients.
"By offering our customers avionics, I think it will provide
more of a one-stop shop," Ahmann said. "With our Cirrus
relationship, a lot of customers are going to need upgrades.
Hopefully, we can find a niche there. With the TC Aero Group
merger, we'll have more than one location. There is a lot of
opportunity in Florida. A lot of Cirrus owners are down there."
The service center's expertise in composite aircraft should
bring more opportunities, too, according to Ahmann.
"We did an Avidyne IFD ADS-B install on a Cirrus SR22,
which was a cool project," he said. "It was a lot more work
than we thought because we're new at this, but our in-house
technicians were able to accomplish the tasks successfully.
