What are the proper settings for the
emitter category?
ANSWER:
FAA Advisory Circular 20-165B paragraph
3.2.3.4 contains the procedures for setting the
emitter category.
The AC directs the installer to set emitter
category per manufacturer instructions. Further
to the basic procedures for setting of the emitter
category, the AC contains Table 1 that lists the
proper emitter category based on the size, design
and operation of the aircraft, vehicle or person.
