GUARDIAN AVIONICS introduced a new USB power
upgrade option for aircraft owners who have an old
12-volt cigarette lighter socket in their current panel -
the Guardian Avionics Power 250-101R Dual 2.1 Amp
USB Power Supply with a 0.9-inch diameter round faceplate designed to fit a standard round cigarette lighter
socket opening in the instrument panel.
According to the company, the round USB unit replaces the lighter socket and adds a clean dual USB port that
sits flush with the panel converting any aircraft power
source from 9 VDC to 48 VDC down to an output of 5
VDC at 2.1 amps per USB port. Only two countersunk
screws need to be added to mount the new unit, and the
power supply can be wired to aircraft power through a
2-amp circuit breaker in place of the existing circuit breaker for the 12-volt lighter socket.

DUNCAN AVIATION launched an exclusive customer program encouraging business aircraft operators to solidify their
upgrade plans for ADS-B well before the Jan. 1, 2020, ADS-B
mandate deadline. Using its network of avionics satellite shops
to assist customers, Duncan Aviation has allotted two slots per
satellite per month for ADS-B upgrades and will allow operators
to reserve the schedule slots, according to the company.
"As a leader in the business aviation community, we must take
that role seriously and convince our customers that the domestic
ADS-B mandate deadline is real, and capacity for the modification is severely limited," said MATT NELSON, satellite operations manager. "We'd be remiss if we didn't advise our customers
to comply with the ADS-B mandate sooner rather than later."
The slot deposit will not only reserve schedule and space
for one aircraft, but also the cost will apply to the ADS-B
installation when that aircraft inputs.

Western Aircraft and Gogo Business Aviation
WESTERN AIRCRAFT and GOGO BUSINESS AVIATION are working together to develop supplemental type

certificates for the Gogo 4G service.
Western Aircraft will develop STCs for Gogo's 4G system
for Dassault Falcon 2000 series aircraft, and will participate
as a partner for hardware sales and installations on other
business aircraft.
"The new Gogo 4G system is something our operators
are excited to add to their aircraft," said AUSTIN SHONTZ,
vice president and general manager for Western Aircraft.
"Our experienced avionics technicians are experts in Gogo's
system installations and they are ready for the next step with
4G. We're excited to certify the new system when it's ready to
launch in the coming months."
Gogo said it will deliver a 4G experience with reliable connectivity for passengers over existing technologies. The new

service will include services such as Gogo Vision, providing the
latest movies and TV episodes, flight tracker, weather reports,
and additional features; Gogo Text & Talk, allowing passengers
to call and text with their personal smartphones and mobile
numbers; streaming video and audio; as well as face-to-face
conversations with a user's favorite applications; email with
attachments; and web browsing - on a proven network in the
continental U.S. and large portions of Alaska and Canada.

in 2017, and our next generation network in 2018, partners like
