QUESTION: What is the proper settings for the International Civil Aviation Organization 24-bit address? ANSWER: FAA Advisory Circular 20-165B paragraph 3.2.3.1 contains the procedures for setting the International Civil Aviation Organization 24-bit address. 14 avionics news * march 2017 According to the AC: You must set the ICAO 24-bit address during installation in accordance with the ADS-B equipment manufacturer's instructions. For U.S. civil aircraft, the ICAO 24-bit address is currently established as a function of the aircraft's registration or "N" number. You can determine the appropriate address for U.S. registered aircraft on the following FAA website: http://registry.faa.gov/ aircraftinquiry/.
