The FDS Glass Cabin feature
connected to a Wi-Fi router, the do Capsule streams
content to passengers without the need for an airborne
internet connection.
For 2017, the company introduced its Glass Cabin
feature - part of its do Experience - a point-anywhere
3D mapping application accessed by passengers from a
tablet computer over a Wi-Fi connection, which delivers
an unobstructed, 3D view of the aircraft's surroundings
in HD detail (and the weather's always VFR). "It's like
VR for private aviation," the company noted.
Also new for 2017 is the do 2D moving map, providing a detail-rich "flight following" view for passengers
on both installed video screens and portable devices.
The application is built around high-definition satellite
imagery of surrounding terrain and includes flight data
and distance/direction on nearby cities, plus points of
interest. If that's not enough, the do 3D moving map
offers the same feature set in three-dimensions, then
adds features like panning and multiple zoom levels.
FDS also introduced its Penta Converter, which can
accept HDMI, DVI, display port, VGA and composite
video as input, and outputs a serial digital interface signal.
According to the company, it works seamlessly with its
new Edge ultra-thin, high-resolution displays.
